Katie began dancing at the age of three at Arizona Sunrays with her twin sister, Nicole. She joined AZDance Group in the fall of 2005, then after a small break, returned for the 2009 premiere of “Moving Through Domestic Violence,” in which her sister was a choreographic collaborator.


Since 2009, Katie has helped as a rehearsal assistant, co-choreographed for Drum and Dance, premiered her first piece, “Little Fugue Orchestra” in the 2012 spring show, Simply Put, “Billy Beethoven” in 2014’s Rejuvenation: No Borders, No Boundaries, and “The Sock Monster” in 2016’s spring show, Lifted.


Katie graduated from Arizona State University in 2009 with a degree in mathematics, and then a master’s degree in secondary education in 2010. Her non-dancing life is as an algebra, calculus, and differential equations teacher at Chandler High School. In her spare time, she enjoys cuddling with her two furry children, Sydney and Widget, and visiting her sister in San Francisco, CA.
